Vote Yes on Z
Safe Access for Medical Cannabis Patients
- Provides Millions of Dollars in Locally Controlled Tax Revenue for Parks, Roads, and Public Safety
- Limits Medical Dispensaries to One Per 10,000 Vista Residents
- Prohibits Dispensaries in Residential Areas
- Prohibits Dispensaries Near Schools or Youth Centers
Over 8,000 Vista voters signed a petition to place Measure Z on the ballot to allow safe, regulated access for medical cannabis patients.
Medical cannabis has been legal in California for over 20 years, yet, in the past few years, the City of Vista has spent millions of dollars on criminal prosecutions to eliminate all access to medical cannabis in the City.
Measure Z allows only medical cannabis dispensaries- not recreational- providing safe access for medical patients. Measure Z would impose a 7% special use tax on gross sales of medical cannabis, and would raise millions of dollars in local tax revenue annually.
Thousands of Vista patients, including many seniors and veterans, are depending on your vote to permit local medical cannabis dispensaries.
Mark Woodard, a long-term resident of the City of Vista and medical cannabis patient, helped put Measure Z on the ballot to help other patients in Vista access local, life-changing treatment.
"Measure Z would provide me safe, local, regulated access to medicinal cannabis. Medical cannabis allows me to be a functioning, productive member of the community and volunteer to help others.
Cannabis has been life changing for me. Previously, I experienced severe joint pain and life-threatening inflammatory issues due to a traumatic injury, but cannabis has enabled me to sleep and function throughout the day.
Having the ability to obtain my medication at a licensed local dispensaries is especially important to me, many of Vista’s seniors, veterans, and others that live with disabilities.
Without access to medical cannabis, the only alternatives are pharmaceutical drugs with harsh and dangerous side effects.
Please help me and other Vista medical cannabis patients and Vote Yes on Z."
